I just thought it would be funny to draw an elaborate birthday wishlist like I might have when I was a kid. I turn 26 two months from today. I really liked being 25, I'll be sad to see it go.
A couple of months ago I splurged and bought myself an A5 sized red covered Moleskine sketchbook. The pages are beautiful to draw and paint on and the perfect GSM not to show most mediums through. I don't play around in it as often as I'd like to, but it always feels like a worthwhile use of time when I do. Sometimes I work on a page and it ends up looking crappy and I'll collage over the top of it. I was worried that having spent a pretty penny for a fancy sketchbook would cause me to be precious about it and not want to use it or play around in it, but I haven't found that the case at all. I can't wait until I've filled up all of the pages in this one and I can start another.
While I'm here I thought I'd share a few more hand-lettered zine order envelopes I sent out this week. If you'd like to buy a copy click here.
I decided this week that I would do a little drawn summary at the end of each day in my sketchbook. It makes my day feel much more interesting than it actually was. Here are Monday and Tuesday's efforts.
What would you draw in an illustrated summary of your day?
