I made these science/knitting themed cupcakes last night to deliver to the
Knit Lab ladies today. The decorations were pretty fiddly but I had so much fun making them (while sitting cross-legged on my lounge room floor watching the Tour De France with many plates laid out in front of me). I tried to think of a way to tie the cupcake holder onto the tray of my bike but decided it was probably a recipe for disaster (mind the pun) and walked into town with them. While I was walking I passed some tradies sitting on the side of the road who said "You can give us the left overs!".

I used (my very favourite cupcake recipe) the
Vegan Crimson Velveteen Cupcakes recipe from
Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World and the Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting from the same book. I dyed marzipan and rolled it to form the atoms and balls of wool, following
this lovely lady's
tutorial. It was my first time using marzipan and my attempt is far less fancy but I think they looked okay and tasted pretty dee-lish. I want to make another dozen for myself now!
