Just A Minute...
...in August (oops, I never do these things on time).

Increasingly difficult to find the time to write in this little baby book! #babyjagoe
I added some pages to Theo's baby book.

Milton Hall gets yarn bombed #launceston
I noticed that Milton Hall had been yarn bombed (ready for the Junction Festival).

A very serious #babyjagoe in a rabbit suit.
#babyjagoe thinks too much
I spent a lot of time with this grumpy guy.

I love it when he looks more like a little boy than a baby #babyjagoe

It's a pleasure to be this guy's mum these days #babyjagoe
Lots of the time he wasn't grumpy though (those smiles make my life).

He really seems to like being on his feet and is pretty steady!

And he really enjoys being carried about.

One of my favourite #launceston buildings. Oats & Oatmeal.
We spent a lot of time wandering around Launceston, enjoying the warmer weather and admiring the old buildings.

The best chai in Launceston
We ate out a lot (and I drank lots of Garden of Vegan chai).

Watching | The Killing (obsessed!).
Eating | Homemade tacos (with spicy veggie mince).
Listening | Peter, Bjorn & John (so fun and upbeat) and Paul Kelly (he was so great in concert).
Visiting | Hobart & Melbourne.
Purchasing | A new phone, tablet and camera (just waiting for them to arrive, rather excited, I've been saving for ages!).
Looking forward to | visitors and travel (can't wait to see my sister again).
In September I'd like to | get out and enjoy the sunshine and blog more often.

This week will mark the start of Spring and that Theo is three months old. It is amazing to me that he was been with us for one whole season. It was the most difficult season and I wish I could go back to the start and tell myself that I could do it (self doubt was a huge problem for me), that I'd learn a whole lot and that there would be some really special, beautiful moments amongst all of the sleep deprivation. Winter was so cold and there was so little sunshine or warmth and that made things harder. I've always loved Winter but I'd never choose to have a tiny baby in Winter again (memories of birth are vague and distant enough away that I am actually starting to consider when we might have another baby - not in the near future though of course). I am so happy that Spring is here and I can't wait to let my little baby wriggle around on a picnic rug in the sunshine.

List | Little Sads

As seems to be the case with most women when they're pregnant, I became really emotional about ridiculous things; like unfortunate looking people in TV ads or dented cans or seeing dogs tied up outside supermarkets waiting for their owners. This over-emotionalness towards things that probably don't warrant it has certainly carried over into my life post-pregnancy. Here is a list of some of my 'sads'.

+ overhearing someone being rude to their waitstaff
+ that someone always has to come last in a race
+ that bakers have to throw out lots of unsold bread at the end of the day
+ gigs that get cancelled due to low ticket sales
+ baby tears
+ that I'm often too busy to pay attention to my cats and our only interaction is me yelling at them for being naughty
+ watching someone trip over in public
+ empty open cafes and restaurants
+ when goalkeepers have goals scored against them
+ watching people run for and miss trains/buses
+ goodbyes at the airport
+ watching old people walk when you can tell that they're in pain
+ plants at the supermarket that look like they're about to die
+ overturned umbrellas

Do you have a 'sad' to share?

Little Travels
P_20130812_163511
Last week we made a quick trip to Melbourne and stayed with my sweet sister and her boyfriend and their delicious baby Connor. Theo had an excellent first flight and slept from start to finish (although, it was only an hour flight).

I think that next time we should approach Melbourne with more of a plan because we always seem to just go to the CBD and get overwhelmed by the pushy crowds (carrying a baby does not seem to stop people from literally shoving you to get onto a train!), people smoking everywhere (in Tasmania where you can smoke is much more restricted) and never really find anything very interesting to do. I do really like Melbourne but I'd like to love it. If you're from Melbourne or have visited you should definitely share with me your best Melbourne spots :)

We did visit the Sticky Institute and picked up some zines, caught a bunch of trains and trams, I bought some pretty dresses, we ate some delicious food, went to the consumerist mecca that is Chadstone (Tasmania doesn't really have big indoor malls), met up with my Grandma and my friend Sophie, generally wandered about the city and spent a good portion of time hanging out with my sister and playing with her cute baby. My sister also introduced us to Adventure Time which is now my favourite thing ever.

It was really sweet to see Connor and Theo together. We gave them a bath together and they would wriggle about on a blanket on the floor in front of the heater. Connor is two months older but they're about the same height (my son is a giant). Connor is so lovely and smiley and doesn't cry often, so I am hoping that is some of what we have to look forward to in the next few months (and he sleeps 11 hours straight at night!). I hope they'll get to see each other at least once a year as they grow up, as they're so close in age.

Back in November when we travelled to Melbourne (and I was only 14 weeks pregnant) we stopped at the Flinders Street train station photo booth and got a photo strip of the two of us. We thought it would be fun to turn into a family tradition each year.
