Thrifted | The Roberts' Family Postcard Album

I found this photo album about a month ago at my favourite opshop and I thought the cover pattern alone was pretty sweet but baulked at the price ($20). Opening it up, it was full of vintage postcards, almost 100. The collection seems to have belonged to a woman in the seventies, most of the postcards are to "Jan from Mummy", though there are a couple to and from other members of the family so perhaps it was a family album. There are postcards from Wales, England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland, Brussels, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy. It looked and sounded like some holiday!
I um-ed and ah-ed about buying it at that price, but since I didn't find anything else to buy that day I decided to take it home. And vintage postcards are often at least a dollar each, so it was a pretty good buy. I considered taking the postcards out and using them for collages, but I think the collection is pretty interesting on its own and at least for the time being, I'm going to keep intact.

Each page folds out and holds 12 postcards.

What made the album even more cute was that they seemed to live in a Tasmanian town called 'Snug'!
