A very basic list, nothing profound here.

My friend Doug came to visit last night while C was at work and we went to Coles to by 3 fifty cent bread sticks and came back to watch some Dexter. Was nice to hang out, although we usually spend the majority of it arguing. C and I went to hide a 'drop spot' this evening in Gregson Park in Hamilton. If you're nearby you should go find it! :)

I've been making magnetic poetry this afternoon with anonymous people. Strangely, very fun. You should take a look. Another link from my friend Jade, who is supposed to give birth today! C'mon little Charlie, we want to meet you.

I have a gig on Thursday, which I am dreadfully unprepared for and certain I'm going to screw it all up. I haven't played anywhere in so long. We'll see how it goes. I'm just playing some covers, but I'm so out of practice. Will let you know how it goes.

Today C and his brother spent the day in the sun drinking boutique beer and fixing bicycles in our little yard. In a few days time I may just have a bicycle with which to ride around town. I don't have a helmet or a lock yet. I can't wait.

C is at work so I had ice cream and banana for dinner. I could smell next door's cooking as I sat here typing and I kept waiting for C to bring whatever he was making out. How disappointing. I am definitely going to starve by the time he gets back from Tasmania (18 WHOLE DAYS).

I am going to spend the evening watching Season 1 of Dexter and eating other unhealthy foods (Mi Goreng is first on the menu).

Also, you have to look at this collection of unusual and creative ice cube trays my friend Jade showed me. I've seen some of them before and I think I must have the lego; link.

Blogging about the weather is just fascinating I'm sure, but I just had to say it's still Winter and it's 30 freaking degrees today (that's 86 Fahrenheit)! Spring has certainly sprung. If it's this hot now I'm headed south for Summer.

So folks, it's a week off being spring and it's 27° today (and it keeps going up). If it weren't a Sunday I'd definitely be at the beach by now, but I think every single person in Newcastle has had that idea today. If the weather is similar tomorrow I'm going to go for a swim in the ocean baths. This is the way I'd like Summer to be, just comfortably warm. I'd like to go for warm night time swims at the baths and not wake up at 9 o'clock in the morning with it too hot to sleep. But, I guess you take what you can get with weather.

• Some friends of mine showed me this game called Geocaching a few months back;
  
  Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
  
  But as I don't have any kind of GPS device, it makes it a little difficult (I have found two caches in Hamilton already though). C showed me a similar website that doesn't require a GPS, but one that doesn't seem to have taken off in Australia yet, called Drop Spots. I am definitely in on this.
  
  
• SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Emails; This little project is very sweet - you email them with the 'exhibition' you'd like to be sent and in a couple of days they email you a kind of traveling exhibition of photographs. I chose the 'Unusual Animal Friends (aka Interspecies Friendship) exhibition and the photos within it were lovely.

Ooooookay, now C and I are going to buy icy poles! Btw, I thought Inglourious Basterds was a bit inglourious. We didn't know it was by Tarantino when we walked in and when we saw his name come up on the screen 5 seconds into the movie we both looked at each other and were like "Uho". C wanted to leave early on, but we sat it out. I mean, I didn't hate it entirely, and Brad Pitt rarely disappoints, but it wasn't great.
