Things I Like To Discover About People + Katyha

Today's lovely guest post is delivered to you by Katyha of Love Katyha. She takes fantastic photos and the everything about her blog has a beautiful, subtle, minimalist feel to it. She lives in my home state and I feel very fortunate to have crossed paths with her in my internet travels, x Bianca.

Hi there Goodnight Little Spoon friends! I'm Katyha from Love Katyha and I was overjoyed when Bianca asked me to guest blog for her while she is away celebrating her 21st and spending time with her family and friends.

So today I am here to share with you a little list that Bianca was curious about ;)

+ This was me at school - I was in Year 12 and the year is 1990

+ My parents - mum was pregnant with my brother so I think this is 1978. I am the one standing up and my older sister is next to our picnic box :P I am five and both my parents 25

+ What makes me laugh? nothing beats a Seinfeld episode - they never get old

+ And to add my list of things I like to discover about people:
- what is inside their bag
- what is on their desk
- what books are on your bookcase
- what is on the front of your fridge
- what you collect

Thank you Bianca for having me... it was a real pleasure & honour! I can't wait to see all the other guest posts :D

Things I Like To Discover About People + Micaela

Another 'Things I Like To Discover About People' themed guest post, today from one of the sweetest ladies I've met on the interwebs, Micaela. She blogs at Dolce Vita, about her sweet life, x Bianca

+ Snippets of ours bedroom at Casa Di M.

+ My husband makes me laugh... being freely silly with the man you love is the greatest blessing.

+ My parents on their wedding day, 40 years ago - my mom grew up relatively poor in the Philippines and went to a catholic school. In fact, she was such an Elvis lover (a passion she passed on to me) that she would save her lunch money so she could see his latest film at the theatre. But when I see old photographs of her, you'd never know that she grew up in a third world country - not by her smile, her bob hair, and a-line dresses. I love that she has kept her same big smile over the years. My father moved to East L.A. in California from Mexico City. He was an athlete and liked to party back in the day - which is crazy now considering he is pretty conservative as an outreach minister for our church back home. It's still weird to see photos of my father (with thick black hair!) holding a beer bottle and every once in awhile smoking a cigarette.

+ This is a photo of me in high school signing yearbooks in the hall, lol. I was a senior class favourite along with my twinkie Marianne. I wrote for the school newspaper and wrote about sex, eating disorders, giving up the Olympics, to raising tigers. I was also part of the French club but probably my favourite thing to belong to was being chosen for PALS - a mentoring program where we got paired up with elementary kids from the surrounding schools who needed a little extra attention and help with school work. I loved it!

+ My curiosities - the handwriting and bedroom one is such a fun one!!! I love seeing people's houses :) and as I love mail- I love seeing handwriting!

Things I Like To Discover About People + Adeline

For the next week or so you'll be seeing a few guest posts from some sweet folk I've met through this lovely blogging community. I will be home in Newcastle for the next eight days for my 21st birthday, seeing family and friends and immersing myself in my little home city. A few months ago I wrote a list called 'Things I Like To Discover About People' and the guest posts that are to follow are in response to that list. Adeline (to your left) first responded to this list on her blog and I thought I'd start off these guest posts by reposting her lovely entry (with her permission). She's a gorgeous French lady living in Norway and I adore her blog, Lady Croissant, x Bianca.

+ Late seventies, my grandma sits in the middle, surrounded by my cousins. The young man on the right is my dad.

+ In school, I had long curly hair and glasses. Yes, I straighten my hair and wear contacts, the truth is out.

+ And this is what I sound like when I laugh;

+ Things I Like To Discover About People;
- How they behave in a restaurant.
- How they react when you want to take a photo of them.
- How many pairs of shoes they own.
- If they're good huggers.

Have a beautiful week everyone!
