Little Sister
I don't often do these kinds of posts because I'm not certain how interesting they are to other people - regardless a camera empty was necessary, so here are a bunch of miscellaneous photos that have been floating around on my camera;

^ Freshly paint-chart decorated spokes.

^ My little sister riding my bike in our street when she and her friend Rokia were visiting us last week.

^ The travelling journal I started a year ago made a quick trip home last week and has since been sent off to another participant. I took photos of all of the pages which I am very excited about sharing.

^ Flower grass.

^ Lists of letters to be writ!

^ Kitty snooze.

^ My sister's flowered locks.

^ Sadly Katrina shut up shop selling her beautiful prints, but I nabbed a couple for a very good price. She also threw in pretty stickers and some of her lovely postcards. I am going to go op-shopping tomorrow and find a frame worthy of their gorgeousness.

^ C thought this was a photo worthy moment - me this morning prior to going to my job induction.

^ My sister likes to eat flowers?

^ Rokia, Sara and I in the park before we took a big trek around the city. Would you have guessed the blonde one is my sister? I wouldn't have (pssst... my hair was that colour when I was a kid, then I found hair dye).

^ A bouquet of flowers C's parents brought us from their garden. Whenever I write/say the word 'bouquet' I think of 'Keeping Up Appearances'.

^ My sister's pink shooz.

^ Sara and Rokia obviously very happy to be in Tasmania - I'm sad they're not still here! :(

^ Sister legs.

Freebie: Printable Doily Address Labels

^ click me!

My sister flew home today and I spent the day doing very little besides making these address labels. Feel free to download and print them, cut them out and stick them on your mail. I'm yet to actually print them out onto sticker paper and see how they look for myself yet because my printer hates life today - so you'll have to let me know! Hope you like 'em :)

Click on the image above to see the larger size, right click and save. The four labels come as one image and you can print eight labels per A4 page. Of course these are just for your own arty use and not for commercial use. If you do end up using them for your mail I'd love to see :D

In/Out

^ Q is for Quilter

As you have probably noticed my outgoing mail rarely rivals my incoming and this week was no different!

^ A fabulous postcard from the desk of Liz.

^ This package smelled delicious even before I opened it - a beautiful lavender scented bundle of goodies from Marguerite who I am very happy to add to my penpal list.

^ A sweet note from Jackie.

^ A whole hoard of lovely things from Ngaire including a sweet journal I am considering allocating as a new travelling journal.

^ Something sweet from Eve.

^ One of Ria's own postcards.

^ An altered postcard from Molly from her swap.

^ A grand package from lovely Liz in Canada.

^ Very cute postcards and a sweet note from Sammy.

^ I forgot to photograph the great contents of this envelope from Emilie, but her letter was superb. It made a stop over at my old address and was escorted to me by my little sister who flew down this week.

^ Another item which was delivered to my old address and hand delivered to me by my sister. Lauren filled up a gelato container with a beautiful red satin bag, a handkerchief and a sweet note. I am definitely going to send her something odd!

^ Collaged airmail for Emily in Folsom, CA.

^ A pink woman for lovely Elle.

^ Something a little punk for Charlotte in Oxford, UK.

^ Tied with a ribbon for Fanni in Hungary.

In other news, my sister and her best friend head back to Newcastle tomorrow after four days in Tasmania with me. It has been so nice having the company, I have missed her a lot. Today we went for a trek around town (erm, 6.5kms?) and to the Gorge and I am sunburned and so tired but it was lovely.

Also, next week I start some part time work at a supermarket. It was funny actually because, of course this isn't the type of work that makes me feel super excited to do, but after the interview I thought the experience might be of some amusement to document and turn the mundanities into a zine. I will report back. At the very least, extra stamp money is always appreciated. An hour working will get me about 30 regular stamps, haha.

Hope your weekend is sweet.

The Journey of a Letter
Ever wondered how your mail gets to its destination? I spotted this video today on the Postcrossing blog and thought I'd share. I've seen videos like this before, but it is fun to see it again. And it makes me feel slightly guilty about all of the artistically addressed/decorated mail that I send that has to be hand sorted and cancelled every day, ha.

^ UK

I also thought I'd include one for Australia and the US, not that the system is very different for each country. Needless to say all three are a little hammed up;
