Bump | 30 Weeks

Thirty weeks! I ticked over to the third trimester a few weeks ago and instantaneously felt the drain of energy from my body and the arrival of overwhelming lethargy! I also had to make a trip to the physio to be fitted with a pelvic support belt (a totally gorgeous accessory, not!) as I have a lovely little thing called SPD which means my pelvis is kind of floating around fairly unsupported and it's extremely painful. I've had it since I started showing and it makes any kind of movement very uncomfortable. C and I caught an episode of One Born Every Minute this week and C sat there looking extremely distraught and uncomfortable the whole time. Perhaps he wasn't fully aware of what we're in for? Haha. I'm really not paying too much thought toward child birth - I figure women have been doing it for centuries and there's nothing I can do about it - it's going to happen and I'm not going to make myself unnecessarily afraid of it. That being said, I can only envision it being a world of pain, but at the end I get a cute, squishy, lovely (screaming, defecating, needy) baby!

Getting dressed in the morning is becoming more of a challenge (not least because it's so painful to bend!). Every time I wear an item I think - this will definitely be the last time I wear this before I give birth! My Saltwater Sandals are basically attached to my feet every day except for at work and while sleeping! I have worn this pair almost to death and really need another pair. It is my birthday next week so I might treat myself to a new pair (possibly bright yellow?).

I've been making weekly opshopping trips to gather fun baby related items lately. Today I found a bunch of cute clothes and cot bedding. I really find the second hand offerings much more to my taste than what is available in stores.

Anyway, ten weeks to go!

Little Joys

+ "the lady of the log" by patrushka

+ back to back twin peaks episodes
+ a new red dress
+ brightly coloured wool
+ wriggly little baby feet tickling my ribs
+ double coated tim tams (which cause those baby feet to wriggle even more)
+ relaxed nights at work (eight more shifts to go!)
+ mixed berry smoothies made with apple juice from milkbar
+ dreams of a weekend beach trip while we're in the midst of a (rare tasmanian) heat wave
+ the fifty year old man at work last night who told me he felt like he had just met the love of his life at a cocktail party (and they are going on a date - he's going to tell me how it goes next week)
+ saltwater sandals every day. those shoes cannot be killed.
+ c helping me make felt balls for my overambitious rug
+ being given a perfect bill of health from my midwife and being told to "keep doing whatever it is you're doing!"
+ mint green nail polish on my toes
+ many glasses of raspberry iced tea
+ the way my cat looks me in the eyes then puts his paws on my chest for a cuddle when i'm sitting at my desk (and then stays there purring for hours)
+ a lovely long phone conversation with my (also pregnant) older sister (who will hopefully give birth a day earlier than planned, on my birthday!)
+ anticipating seeing evidence that autumn is here already
+ conversations with customers at work that make me feel like it's possible i'll miss that place

Just A Minute...
...in February.

The clock at Milkbar is my favourite clock.
+ We spent a bunch of time at Milkbar where this great clock resides.

Bought some cheap alphabet letters for the lockers.
Yeah, it's not 2am and I'm still in the nursery rearranging things... #14weekstogo
Got this big print made of a hi-res photo of the moon for $5 - pretty pleased with it #babyjagoenursery
A quick DIY this time. Painted the handles of these drawers so it will match the room. Thinking it will be the change table #babyjagoenursery #atticuskitty
Nursery is starting to get more bits and pieces.
A wonky little cloud cushion I made for the nursery. It's misshapenness makes me laugh. I only swore at my seeing machine about half a dozen times! Time for cloud attempt number 2.
Another day, another slightly creepy androgynous sad Mira Fujita clown print. This one's for the nursery #babyjagoenursery
+ I spent a lot of time in, and making things for, the nursery.

Helping me eat my breakfast #atticuskitty
Wanted to get a nice picture of Atticus and I but he yawned. Every time I look at this picture I can't stop laughing #atticuskitty
#atticuskitty with one paw protectively on @xavcob's dinner
+ I spent quite some time cuddling this funny cat and shooing him away from my food.

Watching... Twin Peaks (halfway through the second season at the moment, really enjoyed it so far), A Royal Affair, Monsieur Lahzar & Silver Linings Playbook.
Listening... Lianne La Havas - Is Your Love Big Enough? and Feist - The Reminder.
Reading... Silver Linings Playbook - Matthew Quick.
Making... Lots of felt balls (I'm rolling them in my sleep!).
Buying... Many opshopped goodies, berries from the market and vintage baby clothes.
Looking forward to... Finishing up work on the 25th of next month, my 23rd birthday next month, being another month closer to meeting my tiny person and cooler weather (I'm dying in the heat!) for coats and scarves and hats and comfortable walks.

In March I'd like to: Collect more baby necessities (clothing, bedding, a capsule, etc), write some letters, make some crafty things, go for a trip somewhere fun and save money.
