Hello | Baby Theodore
the

Just wanted to check in quickly to let you know that, much to our delight, that baby of ours arrived this week, on his dad's 33rd birthday. I had an eighteen hour labour, was fully dilated and spent a whole lot of time pushing, but due to the position of his head had to have a c-section, which both Theo and I came out of with fevers and had to be put on antibiotics and monitored (seeing a cannula on a baby is awful). We just got home this afternoon and are happily adjusting to life as three. He is feeding wonderfully and I am getting back to feeling like myself (c-section recovery was so much worse than I expected but on day 5 I'm feeling near enough to normal). Our families have met him, but we're going to wait a few weeks before having visitors, to adjust and so that he can have his vaccinations before becoming a social butterfly. These are some photos taken on my iPhone of my little Theodore. Hope to write again soon.

Bump | 41 Weeks

Well, I sure didn't think I would be doing a 41 week post, but here I am in all of my enormous glory!
Today we got so bored of waiting for baby we went for a walk to the park on top of our hill with our new pram.

At my appointment on Thursday the doctor (who was very funny) just kept pulling confused faces at my belly and throwing his hands up in the air. He said to see how things went over the weekend and then go back into the hospital on Monday to book an induction. I am eight days overdue today! I feel really well and healthy and have been on several big walks this week, but I can imagine other pregnant ladies not being so lucky. I haven't had any pain or any real signals at all. C's mum was a whole month overdue when she was pregnant with his eldest brother - I can't fathom waiting that long!

My parents arrived this week and we've been having a really nice time just going for walks with them and eating out. Several months ago we bought our pram second hand online and my step dad picked it up for us from Sydney and then they brought it with them on the plane coming down here. It was a fun family effort pulling all of the parts out of their wrapping and putting them all together. It sure is pretty.

Today is the first day of Winter and it was lovely and sunny and warm in the park.
Now, I promise not to write again until I have baby news!

Just A Minute...
...in May.

Passing the time watching Firefly and painting. Someone's late to his birthday party.
I added some pages to my pregnancy/baby journal.

Today is baby day! I have a feeling he'll be late to the party though. In the meantime, having a sleep in with #tintinkitty
Cold weather is good cat weather
Tintin became a lot friendlier and cuddlier and is now a big part of the family.

Went to the open house of a place I wish we could buy today. The kitchen wallpaper makes me go
We went to the open house inspection of a house we'd love to buy - this is what the walls in the kitchen look like. The thought of someone else buying it and ripping out that wallpaper makes me cry!

Super cute buttons from @hollyleonardson. They're on sale in her shop for $4 a set - you should get some too!
My sweet friend Holly came over for tea and cake and I purchased a little bundle of her lovely buttons. Lots of the things in her shop are on sale at the moment.

Launceston, you pretty
Another day, no baby!
C and I took several walks at dusk. Launceston is so lovely at any time of day.

I made some little paintings while watching TV.

Daily picture of my cats snuggling #atticuskitty #tintinkitty
Tintin and Atticus spent a lot of time cuddling and play fighting. It makes my heart hurt every time I see them curled up together (which is usually), it's so cute.

Ten points if you can guess what the growth is in the front of my hoodie #atticuskitty
#atticuskitty is looking forward to me having a lap again so he doesn't have to sit on my chest all the time (me too)
Made my own moby wrap and tested it out with #atticuskitty. Works great! Just need the baby to put in it!
Atticus insisted on cuddling up on my chest every night.

A bit messy, but getting better! Ps. Day 4 gone, still no baby.

Getting the hang of using nail stickers.
I painted my nails about a dozen times.

#tintinkitty is sweet
Someone is feeling as lazy as I am today #atticuskitty
The cats are glad we've returned from Hobart.
I took a LOT of photos of my cats! Cold weather is good for cat photo taking opportunities.

Ridiculously sweet yellow coat and bonnet set from a ridiculously sweet overseas mail friend. I want it in my size!
Marguerite sent me this fantastic coat and bonnet set.

5 days overdue!
...and last but not least, I didn't have a baby this month (well, I am scheduling this post from the 29th, so I'm just assuming he won't have emerged by the end of the month)! June baby it is!?

Watching | Firefly (again), Call The Midwife, The Checkout, Searching For Silverman.
Reading | I finally finished Silver Linings Playbook. It is an exceptional book. I really want to watch the film again soon. I think I'm going to try to read the 3rd Game of Thrones book next.
Consuming | Homemade cranberry and oat biscuits, lemon syrup cake and red velvet cupcakes. So nesty!
Listening | Rodriguez (we have almost listened to 'Cold Fact' once every day for the past two weeks!), They Might Be Giants, Feist, Jefferson Airplane & Bull Moose Jackson (a bit of a mix!).
Visiting | Hobart.
Making | Little paintings while I watch TV.
Looking forward to | Wanna guess?!
In June I'd like to | take time to soak up and enjoy every little moment of my first month of parenthood.

Weekly Thrift
IMG_7379

Over the weekend C and I took a drive to the Evandale Markets and yesterday we visited four opshops. It has been good to plan something for each day so that it isn't spent sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting. These are some of our secondhand finds from the past few days.

IMG_7373
+ Pretty vintage pillow cases and sheets. Can never pass these up when opshopping.

IMG_7386
+ A cute abacus (I'd like to start an abacus collection) and a little cat alphabet book.

IMG_7385
+ A full set of vintage wooden alphabet blocks for $4. I felt so lucky finding these and would have paid a lot more for them!

IMG_7391
+ C found this cat embroidery and had to buy it.

IMG_7392
+ Japanese paper coasters.

IMG_7402
+ Two sweet dolls. The one on the right has a cute little cameo necklace and leather shoes.

IMG_7403
+ Another cat piece C couldn't pass up. I love how grumpy and unphotogenic the picture is.

I have a doctors appointment on Thursday where we'll talk about when/whether to induce. That's also the day my parents arrive (I think my mum had been hoping to not be around for the birth, haha). I have already tried most of the old wives tales about bringing on labour (e.g. eating pineapple, sitting on a fit ball constantly, walking lots, etc) - of course, I don't want to stray into the realm of things that could potentially be harmful. I am not hugely impatient about it (every time I feel a tiny bit of pain I think "no, I'm not ready!") but sleeping is really difficult so I'd rather that it was sooner than later. My Autumnal baby is quickly turning into a Winter one. C thinks we should have him induced on his birthday (so that it negates his birthday and he doesn't have to have one anymore) on June 3rd. That date feels so far away!

Today I've been baking and cleaning the house and we had some friends over for a cup of tea and went for a little bike ride. Tomorrow maybe we'll go see The Great Gatsby. What else to do?!
